Oooo. No Bueno 😅
Put her in the shed! Shame to let it set out in the weather! Just saying......
I find you hilarious your criticizing a 9 year old video ….. a lot can change in 9 years….. just saying .
@@Sazabizc Hilarious, I'll take that ! Better then Crazy I'm thinking. I really didn't realize this video was that old. But Still I would not leave it out in the weather like that 9 yrs ago or would I today!
@@dave434 lol you do realize I didn’t mean hilarious, as a compliment don’t you ? But given that you’re thick enough to criticize someone for something they did 9 years ago cause you don’t agree with it … that tells me a lot . I do fine that very amusing. People like you cracked me up … did you even stop to think before you commented… obviously not . And also what makes you think I even care about your opinion… I don’t . There was a reason it was out side but I’m not going to waste my time explaining that to you . And with that my fine sir . I bid you good day .

So what caused the failure??
Does it chop like that beacause there is one injector that does ent work or injector leaking
how much was ur part?
I believe it was 150$ , I got a local shop that can get Bosch parts as cheap and sometimes cheaper then the internet prices . Be warned…. I’ve seen a lot of counterfeit parts . I saw some rail pressure sensors on eBay for 32$ claiming they were Bosch parts … No way . Be sure where you buy from is a certified Bosch shop
👍👍👍
Quá đỉnh cao
Stop. My peenor can only get so erect
😮 Nice
Yep it was nice while it lasted , blow up on me on the way home …. No warning while I was towing, 7 years 100k miles later . Replaced it with a tarter 67mm
@@Sazabizcin your opinion is 24%(50HP ) injectors and a smarty enough for this turbo (I occasionally pull a 10K 5th wheel camper)… and would I need head studs? I’ll be getting a lift pump too Kinda late from when you posted but would appreciate input, thanks
@@Dirty5.9 probably. I never did and still don’t have studs . I just have 12.9 allen blots . I push close to 50 psi with the 67mm tarter turbo now days .
Cover your equipment...poor care to leave it out
I guess you failed to read the other 100 comments I’ve got on that ? SMH .
Minus the smoke mine sounds like that. 232k on what I am guessing are factory injectors. Diesel make you peak poor man.
Excellent
If they go bad, does it sound like that no matter what speed you’re going? My jeep developed a sound from the rear end only at speeds 40-50mph. If I let go of the gas it goes away but as soon as I even tough the pedal slightly it comes back. Any idea?
Just depends on how bad it’s worn. It’s been like 10 years but if I recall it frist it didn’t always make the sound . Just at different speeds . Then as the bearing got worse it started to get louder and made noises at all speeds .
Did you have to get a custom tune for this turbo?
At the time no, it was just running a smarty . Custom tuning wasn’t available on the 03 to 05 at the time .
can't wait.to get this for my 05 with a g56 with 5 inch straight turbo back to an 8 inch tip this sounds so good
Cool , hope yours last longer then mine did … to be fair it lasted about 7 years and had a little over 100k before it blew up .
8 inch tip? That's rice.
what size exhaust tip do you run?
Is that appropriate to ask a other guy how big his tip is …… rotfl it’s a 6 inch mbrp. The exhaust is a mbrp 5 inch turbo back .
My Infiniti G37 had the same exact sound from the LSD i replaced the whole thing bought the diff on Ebay used for $300. Good to go now along with all new rear bushing
My poor Holden rodeo 2.8 4jb1 is doing this now just ordered a new set. jabing brake feeling 60mph white smoke running ruff and inconsistent on idle with the knocking claking sounds. Bloody things.
Did the injectors end up sorting it out I’m in Australia aswell with a td42 patrol doing the same thing inconsistent idle like wants to shut off but revs fine drives fine
2001 24v dodge she makes that weird tapping sound at idle jus started so it's the injectors you think
It’s possible . Could also be a lifter out of adjustment. I’d run a heavy dose of atf or injector cleaner and see if it changes . I’m nearly as knowledgeable with 24v as I am with the common rails .
Yupppp I got the same issue buddy
🤷 promosm
No 🤦, it did exactly what I needed . I just thought it was funny it actually worked . I was 45 minutes away from home , got the weed eater out of the truck and pulled on the starter once . String broke , happened to have a cordless drill and a socket set . Found one that fit on the shaft and sure enough the weed eater fired right up.
My trucks been struggling to start up as if there weren’t enough fuel or there were air in the fuel lines? Any ideas
Cheak to make sure it getting fuel, could be as simple as a partially plugged fuel filter . But In the case of dads truck it would take longer to start and would miss when it was cold . Once it was warmed up it ran fine . Other then excessive black smoke . Could also try to replace the fuel filter and fill it full of atf and then start it let it run for 30 seconds or long enough to let the atf get to the injectors and then shut it off and let it soak for awhile. That helped my truck before . The only sure fire way to test the injectors is to pull them out and have them tested .
I just put this turbo in my 6.7 and there is no whistle at all, did you take the silencer ring out or could it be a faulty turbo
Same brand ? Cause now there are a lot of companies that make similar turbos . And this turbo doesn’t have a silencer ring . They bore the compressor housing out . I also had a 5 inch exhaust with a flow through muffler on the truck .
@@Sazabizc I’ve got a 4” down pipe and 5” straight the rest of the way out. It’s the fleece cheetah but It seemed like it’s got a lot of lag, and the EB isn’t working. Could it be a faulty turbo you think?
@@joeyheflin8748 so is this a 6.7 version or a 5.9 ? Cause I had the turbo that was based off a he351 non vgt. 6.7 cummins has a he351 with a vgt . If you have the vgt version it very well could sound different, the vanes will change the exhaust tone . But with the exhaust brake on it should really whistle.
released for inhalation☠👍😋
Did it sound like it was 2 stepping
5.9 right? Ugh I want that whistle. I have a 6.7
Yes 03 5.9 . They make a version of this turbo for the 6.7 with the vgt but from fleece it’s hella expensive. I believe tarter turbo makes one to that’s much cheaper .
you could at least cover it !! take care of it !
You could also at least read some comments before commenting . I’ve said multiple times that it stored in a barn . It was out side because I was working on it and then a snow storm blew in. At the time the only way I had to move it was drag it . Don’t want to drag a 1,280 pound generator up a snow cover hill.
Loud, heavy, old, and pass, but interesting to watch, thanks for filming and posting. Love my Kubota light tower genset. On trailer, enclosure, 32g tank, quiet, low cost.
Sounds beautiful!!! 👍
Does it smell very bad
I think it did smell but I can’t remember for sure. He still had a cat in the exhaust. So it might masked some of the smell. Also depends on how the injectors fails. In my case on my truck one or more of the injectors cracked . And the exhaust didn’t smell . But the crank case breather smelled awful. It smelled like rotten eggs or Sulfur. It was the diesel boiling off in the engine . In this videos case , dads truck wasn’t filling up the crank case . It just was hard to start , smoked a lot and idled real ruff until it warmed up.
I have same sound 6.7 when i puch gas too much black smoke when i drive the truck u think it’s injector ?
I have a 09 jeep grand Cherokee limited 5.7 & ive replaced brakes, rotors, calibers, e-brakes, front wheel bearings, & both front & rear driveshafts in the last few weeks & im still getting a grinding noise especially noticeable at low speeds, i was told today by a mechanic just from driving it that i need a pinion bearing inner & outer? This sound correcr? It still shifts from park to reverse & park to drive a little hard still too after replacing both driveshafts with brand new ones, he said i may need to check my transmission mount on the tail plate for that?
I have the same set up with a 5" straight pipe but my truck is nowhere near this sound. I don't have that whistling sound. I wonder why?
Mm maybe fleese changed the turbine wheel? Don’t know . I no longer have the turbo unfortunately. The compressor came apart on me while towing . It’s been replaced with a tater built 67m. It doesn’t whistle out the exhaust like the cheetah did but it sure as heck makes a whistle out the exhaust .
I LIKE SNOW VERY COOL
Hold on to
very helpful ! I have a grinding/rough rolling noise from the front axle, specifically when turning the wheel - now I have the confirmation, that my culprit are the front bearing hubs and not the diff pinion bearing ....
Hell ya brother
My truck is beginning to act out, while decelerating from highway speeds while still lightly on the throttle my truck feels like I’m repeatedly jabbing the brake pedal, the thing jolts and the engines tone rapidly changes, i get a pretty constant haze from my exhaust too while driving.
That sounds like it might be hanging . That’s usually from leaking injectors. It also could be that your rail pressure is rapidly changing up and down . If that’s the case it might be the fca on the side of the cp3. My fca is sticking and causing that to happen to me . It got so bad I thought my breaks were grabbing and legging go. Took it off and soaked it in aft and that helped but it’s still acting up. I really Need to change it .
@@Sazabizc thanks for the reply dude. my immediate thought was rapid fluctuation/decrease in rail pressure, i replaced my FCA and its still the same and its absolutely sackless at WOT, pulls hard then falls flat on its face (i dont ever drive it at WOT just testing). im going to hook my laptop up to it and run diagnostics on it maybe tomorrow but i was looking for some input so i appreciate that about the leaking injectors. Btw be careful of cheap fca's, i put one in stupidly and diesel was shooting into the plug wicking my harness.
@@keith2860 yeah when it comes to injectors and other fuel related parts . Get bosh only from bosh certified sellers. I’ve seen fca as cheap as 20$ on eBay . Wouldn’t even put it on if it was given to me . I don’t know what your scanner is capable of , but getting desired and command rail pressure would be a good start . Also fuel pressure as its acting up . Might not hurt to clean the map sensor and the iat on the intake tube . But if it’s hazing it’s probably injectors unfortunately. Could pull them and have them tested to . If you get injectors get new if possible. Big Bang has a great reputation that’s who I’m going to get when the time comes again. Other would be exergy performance , stainless diesel, fleece performance, s@s diesel ect. If you just want stock then bosh will be fine , just make sure it’s coming from a genuine bosh certified shop. And there’s no reason the company should pull the injectors out of the bosh box and put it in there own or a bag. If they do I’d be very Suspicious. A lot a fraud in the injector market, some shops will sell you new but they are reman or just cleaned up and tested on a bench if they even do that. A bad injector can take your hole engine with it . I’ve seen it many times unfortunately.
My truck is tuned with Hp tuners by optimal welding and the hp software displays just about everything on it so i think I’ll be set. I wont cheap out on injectors, as a former 6.0 owner that would be a death sentence lol, i used to use injectors direct as they’re certified they do 5.9 injectors too so i might go with them but I’ll check out the place you are going with first.
@@keith2860 dad has injectors from injectors direct so far so good . He just got stock ones . But I did think it was odd injectors direct took them out of the bosh box to to it in theirs. Seems like they would just leave them in the bosh box to me . I was a little suspicious about them. Back then they were not a certified bosh shop . Now apparently they are.
How many miles does it have? And was it cold?
I believe it had 180k at the time of the video. And yes that was a cold start once it warmed up it smoothed out . But did smoke more then it should .
Well I’m and idiot... miles show up in the video lol it had 245k and those were the Original injectors
@@Sazabizc lol yeah I was asking because my brothers truck has been slightly starting to act up he has 215k on it, I think we should swap all injectors too.
@@7.3sareslow34 yeah might not be a bad idea with that many miles . But your bother could also pull them and have them tested . Just to be sure that’s the problem.
@@Sazabizc That's true but currently he's just looking for an excuse to build the damn thing lol
Long Dark
Did you get this fixed? If so, what was the culprit? Im having the same issue
Yep could have sworn I put the fix in the comments but I guess I didn’t . It was the iat sensor on the air box . The tap that keeps it from backing out broke years ago . But the gasket always had enough suction to keep the connector from backing out . But then it started to and would only come undone enough that it wouldn’t make a good connection. Looking at the connector it still loooked plugged in . The temporary fix was to use a zip tie to keep it together. The permanent fix was to buy a new connector and push the pins out and pop them into the new connector. No more codes and no more power problems.
@@Sazabizc lol I have the same zip tie fix. But also the same issue. I'll go get a new sensor today. Thanks man I appreciate the response
@@Sazabizc where did you get the new connector

There’s sound. Turn your hearing aids up Grandpa!
I heard it just fine. How'd that happen?
Man I wished commercial generators came with etched schematics
Yeah that’s a nice feature. Makes it easier to diagnose electrical problems.
No pre-op?
Not sure what you mean?
@@Sazabizc I’m conditioned to check oil, coolant (on liquid cooled), batt connections, etc etc before start-up. USAF Power Production Spec 😂😂😂
@@willess8345 oh ok. Well I was working on it a few days prior to the video so all that was checked. I did checks the oil pressure gauge after it started to make sure it had pressure.
Hows this thing holding up?
It blew up last summer with no warning . Thankfully didn’t hurt the engine. Compressor just blew apart with no warning . After taking it apart and examining the compressor we think it was a flaw when it was made . It looked like one of the fins had a crack under it and it finally let go. And when it did all hell let lose. the crack was darker then the rest of the aluminum around it .so it had been there for awhile . Also notice someone had to grind a lot of material off the back of the wheel to get it to balance. Ideally in my opinion the wheel should have been through away and a better compress that didn’t need so much grinding to replace it . But it did last 7 years and 100k so guess I can’t complain to much . Unfortunately this turbo is now like 1,900$ and that’s just to much in my opinion. So I got a tater build 67m for 1,450 $ . So far I like it , it does whistle out the exhaust like the cheeah did. But it sure makes a nice sound when it starts to spool.
@@Sazabizc yeah 100k doesn't seem like very long for a 1800$ turbo. Thanks for the reply
@@hellaforniafinn8117 well that what guys on the fourm said . One guy had a htt turbo that was on 250k and still kicking . Mine had a flaw in it compressor. I doubt fleece notice the crack . It could have been Hidden under the fin. But with the amount of grinding someone had to do to get the wheel to balance. I think they should have just Chucked it in the trash and started over . Tarter built also uses billet wheels . But it wasn’t perfect either, center clamp that hold it together was lose and leaking exhaust, the compressor cover was leaking boost out the back . Apparently that’s pretty common cause the turbo has no seal just Machine parts and a snap ring . Apparently a lot of turbo manufacturers seal them with rtv. My cheetah wasn’t rtv and didn’t leak . But I fixed the leaking coving buy pulling it off and cleaning the area the two parts seal against and put a small amount of rtv and that fixed it . I wished tarter had caught that before he shipped it . But I’ve got maybe 25k on it and so far so good .
